One gets life term for killing wife in Tangail

A court here today sentenced a man to suffer life imprisonment for killing his wife at Atpara village under Nagarpur upazila of the district in 2013.
The court also fined him Taka 10,000 each, in default to suffer more three months of rigorous imprisonment.
Judge of Children and Women Repression and Prevention Tribunal Sharif Uddin Ahamed pronounced the verdict.
According to court officials the convict is Badsa Miah, son of Tamij Uddin, a resident of the same area.
The prosecution story, in brief, is that Badsa strangulated his wife Farida Khatun to death for dowry on July 8, 2013.
After the incident, victim's brother Malek filed a murder case with Nagarpur Thana against Badsa.
Police after investigation submitted charge-sheet with the court.
Later, the judge examining witnesses and relevant evidences announced the judgment.
