Slamming BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday asked Khaleda Zia to beg pardon from the countrymen for burning the people to death and calling the voters as 'dog'.
Prime Minister, also the AL president made the comment while delivering her introductory speech at a meeting of Awami League Central Working Committee held at her official residence Ganobhaban this evening, reports BSS.
'The BNP chairperson must be accountable to the countrymen for burning the people to death in the name of destructive politics and calling the voters as dog who went to the polling centres to cast votes in the January 5 general elections,' she said.
While speaking in the programme, the Premier said, 'She (Khaleda Zia) must beg Twaba (pardon) and seek apology to the nation for burning people and calling the voters as dogs.'
The Premier's comment came as Begum Khaleda Zia at a rally in front of her party office in the capital on January 5 said there was no voters except "dog" and police personnel at the polling centres on the voting day of the last general elections.
The Prime Minister said that there were election officials, media personnel and general people in the polling centres and general people went there to cast their votes.
'She (Khaleda Zia) saw all as dogs, she saw human beings as dogs, everyone is dog in her eyes. Rabies patient only see dogs in his/her eyes....which dog bite her?,' she said.
'What type of behaviour is this, all of 43 percent people of the country who cast their votes are dogs?. What an audacity and attitude that she called human beings as dogs,' she added.
