Police recovered a touchstone statue valued at around Taka two crore from Panchamaria village under Puthiya Upazila of the district today, police said.
On a tip-off, a police team conducted raided the area at around 12.30 pm and recovered the statue from beneath a garbage stack besides a pond.
Hafizur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Puthiya Police Station, said the statue might have been kept hidden for shifting.
A diary has been registered with the police station in this connection.
