The government on Monday unblocked the social networking sites including Twitter, Skype, Imo, WhatsApp, Viber, Mypeople and Line.
Tarana Halim, the state minister for post and telecommunication, has confirmed this to Samakal on the day.
Earlier the government on Sunday evening blocked the social networking sites Twitter, Skype and Imo.
A letter that was sent from the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) around 7:00am on Sunday, asked different telecom operators and all internet service providers to stop the services immediately.
A top official of a mobile phone operator had told Samakal on the day, wishing not to be named, that they received a letter from the BRTC that evening asking the company to shut the services of Twitter, Skype and Imo.
On December 10, the government withdrawn the bar on social network site Facebook in the country after 22 days, which was remained block on security grounds.
It is worth to be mentioned here that the government blocked Facebook, WhatsApp and Viber on November 18.
