Police have arrested Chittagong district commander of the outlawed Islamist outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) with a big cache of explosives.
The JMB leader is Ershad Hosssain alias Mamun, commander-in-chief of the district, said Sandhip Kumar Das, OC of Ambarshah police station.
Acting on a tip-off, police made a raid in Baganbari area of the port city of Chittagong and arrested JMB leader Ershad in the early hours of Monday, said the police official.
Police recovered huge amount of gunpowder, jihadi books, bomb making materials from his possession, he added.
