43 kilograms gold bars seized at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka early today. Customs Intelligence seized bars.
The gold bars worth Tk 21.50 crore were found in three cartons at cargo village of the airport around 4:00am, said Mostafizur Rahman, deputy director of Customs Intelligence.
On secret information, a team of Customs Intelligence conducted a four-hour drive at the cargo village and found 43 gold bars, weighing 1 kg each, inside the cartons of garment accessories, the official said.A flight of Singapore Airlines carried the cartons for a ready-made garment factory, the customs officials said. He however did not disclose the name of the factory.
No one was arrested in this connection.
