Factory fire kills 10 Bangla Citizens in Saudi Arabia

Ten Bangla Citizens among 12 people were burnt to death in a devastating fire at a sofa factory in Saudi Arabia on Monday, media reports said here today.
The deceased were identified as Selim, Bahauddin, Matiur of Homna and Chandina upazilas, Jalal, Shah Alam and Nazir Hossain of Titas upazila and Abdul Gaffar of Meghna upazila under Comilla district, the media reports added.
Quoting sources at Bangladesh embassy in Saudi Arabia, the reports said the devastating fire broke out in the factory at Shifa Sanaya in the Saudi capital of Riyadh around 10 pm on Monday (Saudi Arabia time).
The fire originated from an electric short-, engulfed the factory soon.
Some 15 workers — 13 from Bangladesh and two from India — were working at the factory at that time.
Besides, two Indian citizens were among the dead and more three Bangla Citizens workers reportedly went missing following the incident.
